Hollywood Costumes

Helm-X recently completed a project at The Victoria and Albert Museum’s autumn exhibition called ‘Hollywood Costume’ for client The Hub. The exhibition explores the central role costume design plays in cinema storytelling. Here you can see together over 100 of the most iconic movie costumes from across a century of film-making. Some of the unforgettable and beloved characters’ clothes displayed are those of Dorothy Gale, Indiana Jones, Scarlett O’Hara, Jack Sparrow, Holly Golightly and Darth Vader.

Helm-X produced high quality finish metalwork for our client the Hub. We produced the armature projector supports for the heads, enabling each costume exhibited to show the talking head of the character that wore the costume in that movie! We also produced powdercoated angle iron support frames for the chairs, the voile screen supports for the curtains, various facia finishing and edging steelwork, and the monitor support frame housing for various plasma screens around the exhibition.

The show runs until 27th January 2013, a great day out for any fan of cinema! For more information follow this link to the V & A website;
